Equestrian Center
The Department of Animal and Range Sciences' Equestrian Center is used to facilitate:
- departmental, equestrian and livestock instruction
- to host collegiate regional and national horse shows.
The facility is also available for: off-campus livestock activities
- State FFA judging contests
- the State 4-H Convention
- other youth livestock organizations
A dedication/grand opening was held on April 24, 2003. "We're very grateful for all the people who have supported it and look forward to having a lot more activity in this part of campus", said Dr. Mark Wise, head of the Animal and Range Sciences Department.
The 3,885 square-foot facility houses a classroom, tack room, locker rooms and offices for instructors and coaches.
The $652,500 facility was funded with $100,000 in severance tax money and $500,000 from a statewide educational bond issue. The remaining funding came from private donations and college funds.
